AI video analysis strengthens passenger intelligence: Strategic collaboration with ViSenSys GmbH
DILAX Intelcom GmbH and its sister company iris-GmbH infrared & intelligent sensors are expanding their technological portfolio in the field of Passenger Intelligence and entering into a strategic collaboration with ViSenSys GmbH from Dortmund. The software company specializes in advanced AI and image processing and enhances the iris solutions with powerful, camera-based video analysis systems for public transport and industrial applications.
Video-based AI analysis for precise passenger data in public transport
ViSenSys develops so-called “intelligent observers” – AI-driven video analysis systems that evaluate large amounts of data from CCTV cameras almost in real time. They provide reliable information on:
- Automatic passenger counting
- Vehicle utilization
- Seat occupancy
In addition, AI-based event and aggression detection helps transport companies to significantly improve safety and cleanliness in public spaces.
Improved data basis for efficient planning and control
The use of ViSenSys' AI-based video analysis provides transport operators with a significantly improved basis for decision-making. The systems provide answers to key operational questions in public transport:
- How full are vehicles at specific times?
- How do passenger flows change throughout the day?
- Where are the potentials for more efficient capacity planning?
These camera-based analyses enable a new level of transparency for multimodal transport systems and support a noticeably higher quality of service.
Joint advancement of AI technologies
The founder and former CEO of ViSenSys GmbH, Dr.-Ing. André Ibisch, will continue to lead the technological development as Managing Director. He will be joined by Hélène Garin-Lorenz, CFO of iris-GmbH infrared & intelligent sensors, who, as an additional Managing Director, will focus on the integration and scaling of the joint solutions.
A step toward global mobility innovation
With this strategic collaboration, DILAX and iris are further expanding their position in the field of Passenger Intelligence. The goal is to make modern AI analytics, smart video security solutions, and data-driven mobility applications available worldwide and to drive sustainable innovation in public transport.
